
Track & Field Set to Host Marquette Invitational

MU hosts home meet at Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday, Apr. 22
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's track & field teams will play host this week to the Marquette Invitational. The meet will be held at Wisconsin Lutheran's Raabe Stadium on Saturday, Apr. 22.
The meet will begin at 9 a.m. CT with the women's pole vault. The men's and women's pole vault will be held indoors at the Marquette gymnasium on the Marquette campus.Â
Events at Raabe Stadium will start at 9:30 a.m. with the throwing events. Running events will begin at 1 p.m. with the women's steeplechase.Â

LAST TIME OUT
The Golden Eagles return home after competing at Azusa Pacific, Indiana State and Long Beach State this past weekend.
During the team's west coast trip, Mitchell Van Vooren broke the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate meet record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.70. Van Vooren moved up to No. 4 on the all-time performance list and claimed his second win of the outdoor season.
Dan Weizeorick clocked the No. 3 time in program history in the steeplechase with a time of 8:56.59 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
In the decathlon at Indiana State, Gus Kasun put together a score of 6289 for the seventh-best mark in program history. Kasun finished sixth overall. Simon Werven was the top MU finisher taking fifth with 6539 points. It was Werven's second-best score of his career.
Freshman Emma Kingsley cleared a lifetime best in the pole vault with a mark of 3.45 meters/11 feet, 3.75 inches. Kingsley placed fifth overall. On the men's side, Adam Schommer cleared a height of 4.76 meters/15 feet, 7.25 inches, No. 6 all-time, to take sixth overall.
UP NEXT:
The team will hit the road again with a pair of meets next week. Part of the team will head to the Drake Relays on Apr. 27-29. The remainder of the team will compete closer to home at UW-Whitewater on Apr. 28.
