
Track & Field Honors Seniors at Marquette Invitational

MU heads to Drake Relays on Apr. 27-29
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's and women's track & field teams hosted the Marquette Invitational Saturday afternoon.
"Home meets are always a lot of work and have a lot of build up with the senior honors at the end," said head coach Bert Rodgers. "But, the team got out there and competed hard. Overall, I thought it was a successful day."
The Golden Eagles hosted eight other teams at Wisconsin Lutheran's Raabe Stadium. The MU women won with 208 points and the men second with 102 points in the team competition. Marquette had seven event winners.
The Golden Eagles persevered through the elements, facing rain and snow throughout the day.
Mia Ketelhohn won the javelin throw with a personal best mark of 39.21 meters/128 feet, 8 inches. Ketelhohn's throw ranks sixth best in program history. Grace Mager finished runner-up to Ketelhohn with a mark of 35.76 meters/117 feet, 4 inches.
Siani Brown-Carr rolled to a first-place finish in the women's 100 meters, matching her personal best with a time of 12.61. Payton Hanselman recorded a top-three finish with a time of 12.83.
Senior Anna Penzkover was victorious in the 1500 meters with a personal best time of 4:44.07.
Team Captain, Juru Okwaramoi was the winner of the 400-meter hurdles, finishing a few seconds off her PR with a time of 1:04.34.
In his first-ever action in the 800-meters, Mitchell Van Vooren finished first in his heat and second overall with a time of 1:56.20.
Jared Humphrey (400m hurdles), Adam Schommer (pole vault), Caleb Venzke (javelin), and Vinnie Voudrie (hammer throw) finished runner-up in their events for the men's team.
The 2023 senior class was honored at the Conclusion of the Marquette Invitational.
Clara Braunberger is a two-year letterwinner, competing in the Javelin for Marquette. Clara is a two-time winner of the javelin at the Marquette Invitational.
Clara will receive a degree in business administration in May.
A four-year letterwinner, Katie Dingle represented the Golden Eagles in both indoor and outdoor competitions as a multi. Katie recorded the sixth-best pentathlon score in program history at this year's BIG EAST Indoor Championships. Katie also owns the ninth-best heptathlon score in Marquette history.
A three-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Katie will graduate with a degree in political science and will attend George Washington Law School in the fall.
Payton Hanselman is a four-year letterwinner competing in the 55, 60, 100 and 200 meters. Payton has represented Marquette at both the BIG EAST Indoor and Outdoor Championships. She was a member of the 4x100 relay team that recorded the eighth-fastest time in school history at the 2021 outdoor conference championship.
A two-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team member, Payton will receive a bachelor's in biomedical sciences and a double minor in health studies and public health and equity. She will be continuing grad school at Marquette, pursuing the Direct Entry Masters of Nursing Program.
Kate Jochims is a four-year letterwinner, competining in indoor, outdoor and cross country. She was the recipient of the cross country team's most outstanding freshman award. Kate holds the freshman record in the steeplechase and the number three mark all-time. Kate also holds top 10 times in the indoor 5000 meters and DMR.
A three-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Kate will receive her degree in biomedical practices. This summer she will be commissioning into the Navy and will be attending Marquette's dental school in the fall.
Team captain, Mia Ketelhohn is a four-year letterwinner competing in throwing events. Mia was the recipient of the team's comeback athlete of the Year award in 2022. She recorded the eighth-best mark all-time in the javelin at last year's Marquette Invitational.
A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic selection, Mia will graduating in May with a degree in environmental engineering. In the fall, she will be attending Virgina Tech and pursuing a masters in environmental engineering.
Mallory Lafever is a four-year letterwinner and has represented Marquette the last three seasons at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships. She has also competed in both indoor and outdoor campaigns running in distance events.
A three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Mallory will receive her degree in biological sciences. She will be attending medical school at Carver College in the fall.
Emma Ludwig is a four-year letterwinner competing in the high jump for the Golden Eagles. Emma earned the silver medal in the high jump at the 2020 BIG EAST Indoor Championships to earn all-conference honors.
A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team member, Emma will graduate in may with a degree in biocomputing and a minor in psychology.
A five-year letterwinner, Arianna Mansavage leaves Marquette with multiple marks on the all-time performance sheet. She holds top-10 marks in both indoor and outdoor, competing in the 200, 300, 400, and 4x400.
A member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Adrianna graduated with a degree in sociology. She will be continuing her graduate program in clinical mental health counseling.
Stephanie Mauzer is a three-year letterwinner competing in the 400 and 800 meters. Represented Marquette at the 2023 BIG EAST Indoor Championships competing in the 4x800 meters.
A two-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic team, Stephanie will earn her degree in exercise physiology. She will be continuing with PT school at Marquette.
Laurel Moneysmith is a four-year letterwinner competing in cross country and multiple distance events in both indoor and outdoor. She has represented Marquette at multiple BIG EAST cross country and track & field championships
A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic team member, Laurel will graduate with a degree in biochem & molecular biology. She will be attending the University of Oregon to pursue a Ph.D. in biochemistry.
Team captain of the cross country and track & field teams, Emily Noone (Noon) leaves Marquette with all-time marks in the 600, 800 and relays. Emily is a multiple-time point scorer at both the indoor and outdoor BIG EAST Championships. She Earned the cross country team's most improved award in 2021.
A three-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic team, Emily will be graduating from Marquette's Graduate School of Management as a part of their accelerated degree program with a Masters in Business Administration.

A four-year letterwinner, Veronica Walinski has competed in throwing events both indoor and outdoor for Marquette. Veronica recorded the 10th-best indoor shot put mark in program history this year. She scored points for Marquette in both the shot put and weight throw at this year's indoor conference championships.
A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic selection, Veronica will graduate with a degree in exercise physiology.
A three-year letterwinner at Marquette, Mikayla Wise has represented the Golden Eagles in both indoor and outdoor campaigns. Mikayla earned the team's outstanding newcomer award in 2021. She is a multiple-time point scorer for Marquette at the BIG EAST Championships.
A member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Mikayla will receive her degree in sociology. She will be attending graduate school at Washington University School of Medicine in st. Louis for a Doctorate degree in occupational therapy.
Rosalie Xavier is a four-year letterwinner competing in sprints and relays for the Golden Eagles. Rosalie was a member of the 4x100 relay team that posted the eighth-best time in program history at the 2021 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships.
She will receive her degree in mechanical engineering. She will be working at Emerson-Vilter and plans on working on her MBA in the fall at Marquette.
A four-year letter winner, Harry Baker was the BIG EAST Indoor Champion in the high jump at this year's conference championships in Chicago. Harry holds the number 10 indoor mark in the high jump in program history. He was the recipient of last year's comeback athlete of the Year award.

Trey Baskin is a three-year letterwinner competing in throwing events for the Golden Eagles. Trey was a point scorer for Marquette this year in the weight throw at this year's BIG EAST Indoor Conference Championships.
Trey will graduate in May with a bachelor's in political science.
Jadon Conroy is a four-year letter winner, seeing action in cross country, indoor and outdoor competitions. Jadon has represented Marquette at the last three BIG EAST Cross Country Championships. He is a multi-time point scorer for the Golden Eagles at the conference championships.
A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic honoree, Jadon will graduate in May with a degree in business administration.
Cross country team captain, Cade Ferron (Fair-in) is a four-year letterwinner and has competed for the Golden Eagles in indoor, outdoor and cross country. Cade has represented Marquette at multiple BIG EAST Championships running distance events and relays.
A two-time BIG EAST All-Academic team member, Cade will graduate in the fall with a double major in supply chain and marketing.
A transfer from Valparaiso, Jared Humphrey is a letterwinner who has represented Marquette in both indoor and outdoor competition. He achieved personal bests in the 200 and 300 meters during the indoor season. Jared finished second in the 400 meter hurdles in today's Marquette Invitational.
A member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Jared will graduate in May and will be attending to graduate school at Northern Kentucky University to pursue a masters in communications
A graduate transfer from Washington State, Zak Kindl is a two-year letter winner at Marquette running cross country and distance events in both indoor and outdoor. Zak Has represented Marquette the last two years at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships and NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
A member of the BIG EAST All-Academic team, Zak will graduate with a Masters of Science in sport and exercise analytics.
Christian Peterson is a three-year letterwinner, representing Marquette in indoor and outdoor competitions. Peterson was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that recorded the No. 3 time in program history at this year's BIG EAST Indoor Championships.
Christian will earn his degree in history and education
A transfer from UW-Whitewater, Adam Schonmer will leave Marquette with his name on the all-time performance list. Adam achieved the sixth-best pole vault mark in program history earlier this season at Indiana State.

A team captain of both the cross country and track & field teams, Greg Van Hollen is a four-year letterwinner. Greg was the recipient of the cross country team's most outstanding freshman award and a two-time winner of the team's leadership award. He has represented and scored points for Marquette at the conference championships.
A three-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Greg is graduating with a double major in operations and supply chain management and innovation and entrepreneurship.

Mitchell ran the third-fastest 400-meter time in program history at this year's BIG EAST Indoor Championships. At last week's Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, he recorded the fourth-fastest 400-meter hurdles time in school history and broke the meet record.

A three-time team captain, Vinnie Voudrie is a BIG EAST champion and a four-time All-BIG EAST honoree in throwing events. Vinnie won the weight throw at the 2020 BIG EAST Indoor Championships. He will leave Marquette with top 10 marks in the discus, hammer and weight throw. He was the recipient of the team's outstanding freshman award and named most valuable in 2022.
A three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic team, Vinnie is graduating with a Master's in data science.
A two-year letterwinner at Marquette, Marquis Ward is a three-time All-BIG EAST selection in the high jump and triple jump. Marquis was the triple jump champion at the 2021 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships. He placed third in the high jump at this year's BIG EAST Indoor Championships. Marquis will leave with top-10 marks in the high jump and triple jump. He was the recipient of the team's Newcomer of the Year award in 2021.

A two-time All-BIG EAST selection in the heptathlon, Simon Werven is a four-year letter winner competing in multi-events for Marquette. Simon finished runner-up in the heptathlon at this year's BIG EAST Indoor Championships. He holds the number four all-time score in the heptathlon and the number six score in the decathlon.
A three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic team, Simon will be graduating with a double major in Interdisciplinary cognitive science and psychology.
A four-time All-BIG EAST honoree, Julian Wright is the school record holder in the 300 meters and holds the freshmen records in the 60, indoor and outdoor 200, and outdoor 400 meters.
