
Track & Field Prepares for a Trio of Meets

Last week's season opener was canceled
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's track & field teams split up this week for a trio of meets.
Many of the MU athletes look to see their first action of the outdoor season after last week's Redbird Challenge at Illinois State was canceled.
Most of the team will be heading to Wisconsin Lutheran on Thursday, April 6 for the Warrior Invitational. The field events will begin at 10 a.m. CT and the track events will follow starting at 11 a.m. Live results will be available through Milesplit.
A small group of jumpers and sprinters are off to Houston on Friday, April 7 for the Cameron Burrell Alumni Invitational. Action will start at 12:30 p.m. CT with the field events, running events will begin at 4 p.m. Live results for the meet will be available here. There will be live video coverage available on uhcougars.com starting at 11:45 a.m.
The third meet of the week MU will be represented at is the UW-Whitewater Rex Foster Twilight on Friday, April 6. Pole Vaulters Kaitlyn Huebner and Adam Schommer will be the two Golden Eagles competing. The pole vault starts at noon and live results will be available here.
WASHU DISTANCE CARNIVAL
Members of the distance team saw their first action of the season at Washington University in St. Louis last weekend.
In the men's 5000m, Dan Weizeorick and David Zeller both rolled to personal bests to start their season. Weizeorick ran a 28-second PR with a time of 14:29.21. His time ranks eighth all-time in program history. Zeller surpassed his previous PR by 13 seconds with a time of 14:35.87.
In the 1500m, Emily Noone placed fifth with a time of 4:36.41. On the men's side, Cade Ferron clocked a PR of 4:01.04.
UP NEXT:
Next week the Golden Eagles will be sending a group west to California for a pair of meets while the rest of the team travels to Indiana State. All the meets will take place from April 13-14.
