Golden Eagles will compete in the 47th annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's tennis teams will continue their respective 2023 fall campaigns this weekend with action at two tournaments.
Â
Both programs will be represented at the 47th Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic on Sept. 22-24. This year's MTC will feature a 32-player draw for singles and a round of 16 draw in doubles play. The men's draw will be played at the Milwaukee Country Club and the women's bracket at Western Racquet Club. On Sunday all finals action will be played at the Western Racquet Club.
Â
The women's team will be sending four players to the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. Emilija Kojcic, Andie Weise, Sarah Badawi and Emma Davis will all be in competition for the Blue and Gold this weekend.
Â
The men's squad will also be sending five players to the Everybody vs Cancer Invite hosted by Toledo on Sept. 22-24. Last week Jan Jauch and Blake Roegner paced the men's team with two wins a piece in singles action. Jauch will be among the five players traveling to Toledo and Roegner will be competing at the MTC with Tin Krstulovic.
Â
"The players playing in the Milwaukee Classic will be tested at a higher level than last weekend which will be a great opportunity for them," interim director of tennis Jud Shaufler said. "The men traveling to Toledo will have another opportunity to keep improving and building off their performances from last weekend."
Â
All results of both tournaments will be published on the ITA website.
