
Cross Country heads to Gans Creek Classic

MU travels to Columbia, Missouri
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University cross country teams will be competing in the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri which will be held on September 29th. The University of Missouri will be hosting the event.Â
The Gans Creek Classic will begin 9 a.m. CT. The men's team will be running an 8k, and the women's team will be running an 6k shorty after the conclusion of the men's 8k. There will be 24 teams competing Friday morning in this event. Joining Marquette and Missouri will be Baylor, Bradley, Colorado, Creighton, Kansas, Kansas State, Mississippi State, etc.Â
Last Time Out:
The Golden Eagles last event was the Bradley Intercollegiate. The men's team competed in the 8k race.  Senior David Zeller paced the Golden Eagles, finished first for MU with a time of 25:13.4.
Senior Captain Dan Weizeorick finished second for MU with a time of 24:21.2 and Tyler Re finished third for the Golden Eagles with a personal best of 25:31.0. Sophomore Ronald Walters recorded a personal best with a time of 26:37.30.Â
For the women's team, they competed in the 3-mile race at the Bradley Intercollegiate. The team placed third overall at the event. Senior captain Lexi Keppler finished first for Golden Eagles with a time of 17:47.7. She placed ninth overall in the event. Freshmen Emma Coon (17:58.7) and Brinley Everson (18:24.2) finished second and third for the Golden Eagles in the 3-mile race.
Junior Audrey Grimm finished fourth for the Golden Eagles with a time of 18:43.7.
Up Next:
The squad will be traveling to Omaha, Nebraska for the Platte River Rumble on October 13th.Â
