Golden Eagles wrap up two-game homestand
The Marquette women's basketball team stays home to host Butler for Alumni Day on Saturday, Jan. 27. Tipoff from the Al McGuire Center is at 4 p.m. CT.
Saturday's contest will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloHoops with Bob Brainerd (play-by-play) and Michelle Griffin-Wenzel (analyst) on the call.
Former coach Terri Mitchell, who will be inducted into the M Club Hall of Fame Saturday morning, will be honored during the game. Mitchell is the winningest coach in program history, claiming 348 victories in 18 years as head coach. Her .618 winning percentage is second all-time at MU. She guided the program to seven NCAA tournament appearances, four Conference USA regular season titles and the 2008 Women's National Invitation Tournament Championship.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
• Butler won their first conference game on Wednesday, beating Xavier 90-57 on the road.
• The Bulldogs shot a season-high 62.3 percent from the field and were 54 percent from deep.
• Caroline Strande leads the team in points (15.1) and rebounds (7.6)
