The No. 7/7 Marquette University men's basketball team (11-3, 2-1 BIG EAST) continues BIG EAST Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. CT when the squad travels to Seton Hall (9-5, 2-1 BIG EAST) at the Prudential Center. Â CBS Sports Network features the national television broadcast, with Jordan Kent (play-by-play) and Bob Wenzel (analyst) calling the action. Â Following Saturday's outing, the Golden Eagles return home to face Butler on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Â Â
Series With Seton Hall Dates Back To 1956

The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series with Seton Hall, 23-13, with all but one of the matchups coming after MU joined the BIG EAST Conference in 2005-06.

SHU opened the series with a 96-78 victory over Marquette on March 17, 1956 in MU's first-ever appearance in the National Invitation Tournament in New York. The next meeting wouldn't come until 50 years later when Marquette moved to the BIG EAST.

The Golden Eagles swept the season series in 2022-23 and have claimed four-straight wins after a run a of six-consecutive decisions were claimed by the Pirates. Â In the most recent outing, Marquette claimed a 74-53 win on Jan. 21, 2023 in the Prudential Center. Â Guard Kam Jones led the way with 22 points and forward Oso Ighodaro chipped in 18 points and six rebounds.
Sean Jones Sparks Offense Against Creighton

Marquette guard Sean Jones entered the Dec. 30 game against Creighton with four made 3-pointers this season, including a pair of important shots in wins over UCLA and Illinois.

The Columbus, Ohio, native finished with a trio of treys in the win over the Bluejays en route to a career-best 15-point effort. Â In 12 minutes off the bench, he shot 5-of-8 from the floor and 3-of-5 from long distance and also chipped in a pair of steals. Â He is now 7-of-33 from behind the line in 2023-24.

Jones previously scored a personal-best 11 points on two occasions last season, versus Georgia Tech (11/23/22) and UConn (2/7/23).
