MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's volleyball team hit .366 in a 25-17, 25-16, 25-17 sweep of Milwaukee on Tuesday evening at the Al McGuire Center.
"I thought offensively, we came out hot, which was helpful," MU head coach Ryan Theis said. "It's tough for any opponent, or Milwaukee, to get any kind of lead or momentum when we're siding-out at that kind of percentage. I thought we started off led by offense and then from there the defense picked it up."
Outside hitters Natalie Ring and Aubrey Hamilton led the Golden Eagles (12-6) with 13 and 12 kills, respectively, while Ring hit .400 and Hamilton hit .345.
"(Natalie's) potential to score a ton of points is there and its just the matter of decision-making, when she has to go for it or keep it in play," Theis said. "I thought she's been doing that efficiently in the last couple of weeks."
Graduate middle blocker Carsen Murry posted a hitting line of 8-0-11 (.727) to pace the MU offense and her four blocks led the defense.
"I thought Carsen was up in transition and found space," Theis said. "I thought Yadhi (Anchante) fed her some really good balls and everyone she was able to get pretty good contact with or on top of the ball. That's when Carsen is at her best."
The Panthers (12-10) were led by seven kills from Madi Malone and a match-best 18 digs from libero Kara Erdmann.
