Golden Eagles head to NCAA Great Lakes Regional Nov. 15
LEESBURG, Virginia – Marquette University cross country competed at the 2024 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships at Morven Park in Leesburg, Virginia on Friday.
"It's a bittersweet day as it's never fun to be last," Associate Head Coach Jack Hackett said. "The women's race especially when we were one point away from moving up. That's the reality in the Big East, it's a high level of competition, but at the same time the teams ran hard and I'm proud of the effort."
Emma Coon paced the women's side at 22:27.0 to finish 45th, a career-best conference championship finish. The sophomore has been the highest finisher for MU in every race this fall.
Audrey Grimm finished in 23:17.9 to finish 71st, a career-best BIG EAST finish.
Logan Goodman led the men's side for the third time this fall at 26:10.3 to finish 55th.
Edgar Valles, in his first conference championship, finished 67th at 26:44.8.
"Long term we have a bright future," Hackett said. "We are being led on course by mostly freshman and sophomores. I'm excited to come back next year already and keep building from here."
