Cross Country Heads to NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday

MILWAUKEE – Marquette University cross country heads to the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Norton, Ohio on Friday.

"We are looking forward to finishing on a strong note," Associate Cross Country Head Coach Jack Hackett said. "A deeper race like regionals should play more into our hands than Big East did."

The Golden Eagles will compete against 34 other teams at Silver Creek Metro Park.

The women's 6k is at 10 a.m. CT and the men's 10k is at 11 a.m. CT. Live results will be through FInishTiming.

"We have quite a few seniors who could be racing their last race and we want to see them off with a good team performance. Leaders on the team like Gretchen, Emily, Audrey, and Gianna as well as David. I'd love for their last race to be their best race."

Marquette last competed at the BIG EAST Championships on Friday, Nov. 1.

Emma Coon paced the women's side at 22:27.0 to finish 45th, a career-best conference championship finish. The sophomore has been the highest finisher for MU in every race this fall. Logan Goodman led the men's side for the third time this fall at 26:10.3 to finish 55th.

"As a team we have it in our control to move up a few spots from last year's finishes, and I'd love to show in the results the progress we have made."
