Golden Eagles play Rutgers on Friday, Maryland Eastern Shore Saturday
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's basketball team heads to Piscataway, New Jersey on Friday and Saturday for the Battle on the Banks, a two-game multi-team event hosted by Rutgers at Jersey Mike's Arena.
The Golden Eagles face Rutgers on Friday at 1 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network. MU plays Maryland Eastern Shore in a neutral site game on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CT on B1G+.

DEFENSE LEADS THE WAY FOR MU
• Marquette is first in the BIG EAST and seventh in the nation in field goal percentage defense (31.2 percent).
• The Golden Eagles have held teams to under 53 points three times this season and have held opponents to 10 points or less in eight quarters.
FORBES NAMED TO BIG EAST WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
• Skylar Forbes earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Nov. 25 for her first weekly honor of her career.
• Forbes had a career-high 18 points and eight rebounds in a 92-37 win over Illinois Springfield on Monday. She followed that up with 15 points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals in Marquette's 83-50 win over IU Indy on Sunday.
• The Markham, Ontario native had the best shooting week of her career, going 15-of-24 from the field at 62.5 percent.
FIRST DOUBLE-DOUBLE FOR VICE VS IU INDY
• Halle Vice had her first career double-double with 14 point and 11 boards on Sunday against IU Indy.
• The sophomore guard set new career-highs in points and rebounds in the first half.
RUSHDAN RETURNS TO RUTGERS THIS WEEKEND
• Marquette assistant coach Khadijah Rushdan was a standout guard for the Scarlet Knights from 2007-12 and was the second player in program history to tally 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 400 assists in their career at Rutgers.
• She appeared in 135 games for the Scarlet Knights, tied for second-most in program history.
• She ranks 21st in Rutgers' scoring ranks with 1,288 career points and helped her team to NCAA tournament appearances all five seasons, including an Elite Eight in 2007-08 and a Sweet 16 appearance in 2008-09.
• Rushdan was selected as the 15th overall pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. She spent one season there before playing professionally in Israel in 2012-13.
