Golden Eagles host Western Carolina Saturday at 1 p.m. CT
The No. 10/11 Marquette University men's basketball team (7-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) opened a two-game homestand with a 94-59 win against Stonehill (4-5, 0-0 NEC) on Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum.
Senior forward David Joplin finished with 27 points and seven rebounds and guard Kam Jones added 14 points. Joplin finished 10-of-12 from the floor overall and 4-of-5 from behind the 3-point line.
The Golden Eagles led by as many as 37 points and shot 60.7 percent from the floor for the game.
Marquette led 51-31 at the intermission, thanks in large part to 20 points from Joplin in 16 minutes of action. The Golden Eagles shot 62.5 percent from the floor and forced nine Skyhawk turnovers.
