
WTEN Drops 4-3 Decision to Omaha Friday Afternoon

Golden Eagles back in action Sunday morning
MILWAUKEE -Â The Marquette University women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 team decision against Omaha Friday afternoon at Elite Sports Club (North Shore).
No. 3 duo, Emilija Kojcic and Sarah Badawi opened doubles play in a dominate fashion with a 6-1 win. Shortly after the win at No. 3 the Golden Eagles earned a 1-0 advantage with senior Tiana Windbuchler and sophomore Emma Davis earning a 6-2 win at No. 2.
The first singles point for the Golden Eagles came by way of Windbuchler taking a straight-set victory at No. 5. Friday's victory was Windbuchler's first dual singles win of the 2024 season.
The Mavericks took a singles win at No. 3 to score a team point, making the match 2-1 with Marquette holding the advantage.
Senior Lara Kaiser earned the third point for the Golden Eagles at the No. 6 spot in straight-set fashion.
In a close battle, Omaha took the last three points at No. 4, 3, 1 to take the team decision.
UP NEXT: Marquette will close a three-match week and host EIU on Sunday at 10:00 am CT at Elite Sports Club (North Shore).
