
WLAX Travels to No. 4 Northwestern Monday Night

First time in program history playing No. 1 team in the nation
MILWAUKEE - Marquette University women's lacrosse stays on the road to take on No. 4 Northwestern in Evanston on Monday, Feb. 16. Faceoff from Ryan Fieldhouse is at 6 p.m. CT.
Monday's game will be broadcast on B1G+ with live stats available at NUSports.com.
It will be the ninth meeting all-time between Marquette and Northwestern, with the Wildcats leading the all-time series, 8-0. Northwestern has been ranked in the IWLCA poll in every contest.
Monday's game will be the third time in as many days a Marquette team will play the defending national champion in their sport. Marquette men's basketball played on the road at UConn on Saturday and men's lacrosse hosted Notre Dame on Sunday.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a 14-9 loss at Louisville on Friday in the first road game of the season. Isabelle Casucci had a career-high four goals.
Hanna Bodner (2G, 1A) and Hannah Greving (2G, 1A) had three points each. Meg Bireley added a goal late to make it eight goals through the first two games for the junior.
Northwestern is coming off a 14-10 loss at No. 8 Notre Dame on Friday night. Erin Coykendall had two goals and two assists to lead the Wildcats on offense.

• Leigh Steiner was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.
• Steiner, a two-time captain, has started in 31 of 39 games for Marquette in her career, including all 19 contests last season.
• The senior has six points through the first two games this season with three goals and three assists.

• Meg Bireley was named BIG EAST Attacker of the Week in the conference's first weekly awards of the season on Monday, Feb. 12.
• The Glenville, Illinois native scored a career-high seven goals in the 18-12 season-opening win over Cincinnati on Sunday, Feb. 11. It was her 26th career game with multiple goals in her career.
• Seven goals ties the second-most goals in a game in program history set by Megan Menzuber and Lydia Foust (twice).
• Bireley's seven points were a single game career-high. She also had career-highs in shots (12) and shots on goal (10).
• Bireley was held to one goal on nine shots at Louisville on Feb. 16.
MEG MOVES UP ON CAREER LISTS
• Meg Bireley has moved into the top 10 all-time in career goals. The junior has 83 career goals and passed Caroline Steller who had 77 from 2017-21.
• Bireley has also moved into seventh all-time on the career shots list with 201 for her career.
HUBER EARNS A SPOT ON WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
• Kaitlyn Huber earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her career on Monday, Feb. 12.
• The senior had career-highs in caused turnovers (3), grounds balls (2) and draw controls (1) vs Cincinnati in the home opener.
JOSIE HITS 100 CAREER DCs
• Senior Josie Kropp hit 100 career draw controls on Sunday after having six in the win over Cincinnati.
• Kropp has 106 for her career, eighth all-time at MU, after having six on the road at Louisville on Feb. 16.
IMMEDIATE IMPACT IN ATTACK
• Riley Schultz (Castle Rock, Colo.) and CJ Meehan (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) both scored in their collegiate debut on Sunday, Feb. 11 against Cincinnati. Schultz added two assists at Louisville on Feb. 16.
