DETROIT, Mich. – The Marquette University women's lacrosse team bounced back with a 19-7 win at Detroit Mercy on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles (2-3, 0-0 BIG EAST) had nine different players on the goal sheet. Leigh Steiner and Meg Bireley had four goals each. Bireley added two assists for a game-high six points.
Isabelle Casucci had her second four-point outing of the season with three goals and an assist.
Marquette dominated the draw control, winning 24 out of 28 opportunities. The Golden Eagles had season-highs in shots (44) and shots on goal (32).
The Titans led 6-5 at the 5:47 mark of the second quarter. Leigh Steiner would tie it up with her first of four on the day at the 4:37 mark before halftime that started a steak of 13 unanswered for MU.
Detroit Mercy got their lone goal of the second half with 3:07 remaining.
