LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – The Marquette University men's lacrosse team fell to Bellarmine, 11-5, on Saturday afternoon at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.
Attackman Devon Cowan scored the only goal of the opening quarter and the Golden Eagles (3-4) led 1-0 after 15 minutes.
Bellarmine (4-3) went on to score the next eight goals before Jake Stegman broke the scoring run by the Knights with MU's second at the 11:20 mark of the third quarter.
Cowan and Stegman each had a goal and an assist for the Golden Eagles, while freshman Carsen Brandt posted two helpers.Â
The Knights had eight players score in the win, including two goals apiece for Tayo Oladunmoye, Kyle Playsted and Nick Ferge, a sophomore from Marquette University High School.
BU goalie JC Higginbotham stopped 17 of MU's 22 shots on net as MU out-shot the Knights, 41-31.

- The all-time series is tied, 5-5.
- Five of the nine previous games had been decided by just one goal and three had gone to overtime.
- The last meeting at Frazier Stadium was a 9-8 triple overtime MU win in the 2022 season opener. O'Grady scored four goals in his NCAA debut, including the winner with 2:55 to play in the third extra frame.
- MU is 2-2 against Bellarmine in Louisville.
