Meg Bireley leads MU with seven points
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University women's lacrosse dropped its season finale to Villanova on Saturday, 17-14.
Meg Bireley led the Golden Eagles (6-11, 2-4 BIG EAST) with six goals and one assist, her second game in a row with six goals.
Seven other Golden Eagles scored including CJ Meehan (2g, 1a) and Lauren Grady (1g, 2a) who each had a career-high three points.
Marquette led 12-11 entering the fourth quarter but Villanova outscored MU 6-2 in the final frame to pull out the win.
The Wildcats (7-8, 3-3 BIG EAST) were led by Mary Moore, who had four goals and three assists.
