
Braden Sets 800m Program Record on Final Day of BIG EAST Outdoor Championships

MU men finish sixth overall and women seventh
PHILADELPHIA – Marquette University track and field wrapped up competition at the 2024 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships on Saturday.
Daylee Braden set a new program record in the 800m by over two seconds at 2:04.93 for fourth place. That time qualifies Braden for the NCAA first round.
Kaylee Hopp set a PR in the triple jump at 12.05m to finish fourth. Haneefa Adam set a PR in the same event to finish seventh at 11.62m.
John Pitta finished fourth in the high jump clearing 1.93m and sixth in the triple jump at 13.73m. Aaron Hughes finished sixth in the 100m final at 10.76 seconds.
Zachariah Murray finished fifth in the 400m final at 48.53 seconds. Danny Olsen finished sixth in the 200m final at 22.00 seconds.
Julia Beck set a PR in the 100m hurdles final to finish sixth at 14.53 seconds.
Josh Pirogovsky finished seventh in the discus throw at 41.98m, a new PR, and the shot put at 13.74m.
David Ramirez finished fifth in the pole vault clearing 3.81m.
Marquette finished fourth in the 4x100 relay at 42.05 seconds with a team of Gus Kasun, Justin Juniel, Sebastian Obrzut, and Aaron Hughes.
