
Golden Eagles Close Two Event Weekend

Marquette back in action at ITA Regionals
MILWAUKEE -Â The Marquette men's and women's tennis teams continued their respective fall campaigns this past weekend at a pair of events.
The women's team traveled to the Redbird Invite hosted by Illinois State and competed in the 48th annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
Marquette sent six women's players to Illinois State and two players to the MTC.
In singles play at the Redbird Invite for the women's program, Emma-Jane Barclay and Joelle Fiallo Schad concluded the weekend with fourth place finishes. Tiera Jarmond advanced to the consolation final but allowed a walkover in the final against EIU.
At the MTC, Andie Weise and Emma Davis fell short in opening doubles action. Weise and Davis suffered opening losses in the round of 32 in singles to Purdue and Oklahoma. Davis picked up a 6-7, 7-5, 7-5 win against Wisconsin.
On the men's side, duos Blake Roegner/Ivan Vazquez dropped their opening doubles match vs. Nebraska.
Cyrus Ahmad, Roegner, and Vazquez represented the Golden Eagles in singles action at the MTC but were unable to advance to the round of 16. Â
UP NEXT:Â Marquette tennis returns to action on Oct. 11 - 13 when the men's team travels to ITA Midwest Regionals in East Lasing, Michigan and the women's team travels to ITA Midwest Regionals in Columbus. Ohio.
