
WBB Comes Back to Beat Villanova Saturday Afternoon, 64-59

Golden Eagles host Seton Hall Wednesday at 8 p.m. CT
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's basketball team came back from being down 13 to beat Villanova on Saturday, 64-59, at the Al McGuire Center.
The Golden Eagles (11-5, 3-2 BIG EAST) were led by Halle Vice, who had her third double-double of the season with a career-high tying 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Jaidynn Mason added 14 points, a career-high tying seven rebounds and two steals.
Marquette was down 10 after one and got the deficit to single digits at the break by hitting the final two shots of the second quarter, including a Mason jumper to beat the buzzer.
Coming out of the break, MU scored the first two buckets for an 8-0 run to make it a five-point game that forced a Villanova timeout.
Bridget Utberg hit a three with 2:49 left in the third to tie the game at 38. Marquette got its first lead of the game since being up 4-2 at the 8:01 mark of the first quarter when Olivia Porter hit a layup with 1:45 remaining in the third.
The Golden Eagles outscored the Wildcats 21-9 in the third quarter and led by as many as 10 in the fourth quarter.
Villanova (8-9, 2-3 BIG EAST) were led by Maddie Webber, who had 16 points and six boards.
