Golden Eagles Drop Their First Match Since Sept. 4
The Marquette University women's soccer team (6-4-4, 2-1-3 BIG EAST) closed out its two-match road trip with a 3-0 loss at Villanova (9-5-0, 4-2-0 BIG EAST) on Wednesday afternoon. This 3-0 defeat marks the Golden Eagles first loss in just over two months as their last one came on September 4th, 2025.
The Wildcats struck twice in the opening 11 minutes and led 2-0 at halftime. Marquette had six first-half shots, including three on goal, but couldn't break through.
Villanova added its third goal in the 57th minute off a corner kick to seal the result. The loss was Marquette's first since Sept. 4.
