WTEN Drops Narrow 4-3 Decision To St. Thomas

Golden Eagles back in action Sunday
MILWAUKEE -Â The Marquette University women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 Â narrow decision to St. Thomas Friday evening at Sprovieri Tennis Complex.
The Tommies opened the match by taking the crucial doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 2 spots to take a 1-0 advantage.

Senior Tiera Jarmond put Marquette on the board first in singles play with a straight-set victory at No. 1 (6-2, 6-3) to briefly even the team score 1-1.

St. Thomas took a singles win at No. 4 in two sets to reclaim the team score advantage of 2-1.

Andie Weise picked up a win at No. 2 in two sets (7-5, 6-2). Weise's win evened the score at 2-2.

Emma Davis recorded a straight-set victory at No. 2 (7-6, 6-4) to give Marquette the lead.

St. Thomas tied the score at 3-3 with a win at No. 6 in two sets.
The Tommies went on to take the team decision in a three-set win at No. 5.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will host Bradley Sunday at 11 a.m. at Sprovieri Tennis Complex to close out a two-match weekend homestand.
