Golden Eagles back in action next weekend at home
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team earned a 4-0 victory Sunday afternoon over Bradley at the Sprovieri Tennis Complex.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by securing the crucial doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, taking a 1-0 advantage.
Bradley competed in the match with only four active players, giving MU a 3-0 advantage. Marquette won by default at doubles No. 3, singles No. 5, and singles No. 6.
The match was played in a clinch-clinch format, meaning that with MU's 3-0 lead, the Golden Eagles only needed one more singles victory to win. Junior Emma Davis clinched the win for Marquette with a straight-set victory at No. 3 (6-2, 6-1).
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will host the University of North Dakota on Feb. 21 at 12 p.m. and Dayton on Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Sprovieri Tennis Complex.
