Golden Eagles back in action vs Dayton on Sunday
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team faced North Dakota at the Sprovieri Tennis Complex.
The Fighting Hawks opened the match by securing the crucial doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, taking a 1-0 advantage.
North Dakota began singles action with a straight-set victory at No. 4, giving them a 2-0 lead.
Senior Tiera Jarmond picked up a singles victory at No. 2 (6-3, 7-6) to put Marquette on the board.
The Fighting Hawks won at No. 1 in two sets, taking a 3-1 lead over the Blue and Gold.
Emma Davis recorded a win at No. 3 in three sets (4-6, 7-6, 6-2). Davis' victory gave MU its second point of the match.
North Dakota secured the team victory with a straight-set win at No. 5.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will host Dayton on Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at Sprovieri Tennis Complex.
