Golden Eagles back in action Saturday afternoon
WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Marquette University men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to St. John's to open its three-match road trip at Army.
The Red Storm started the match by winning the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, giving them a 1-0 team advantage.
St. John's then picked up three straight-set singles victories at the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 6 positions to secure the win and clinch a 4-0 team victory.
Freshman Hugh Perrill was leading his match with one set won at No. 5, but the match was concluded due to the teams playing to clinch.
Redshirt freshman Koji Heineman saw his first singles action as a Golden Eagle at No. 6 in the match but fell short in two sets.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will take on Army on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Georgetown on Sunday at 7 a.m.
