WILMETTE, Illinois — Senior Nolan Rappis posted his fourth hat trick of the year and Lucas Lawas made 15 saves in a 9-8 victory for the Marquette University men's lacrosse team over Air Force at Loyola Academy on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles (5-3) trailed 7-4 with 4:12 remaining the the third quarter following consecutive goals from AFA's Cole Rassas. Midfielder Jake Bair answered just under two minute later with his first goal of the season and capped a 5-1 MU scoring run with the game winner at the 8:30 mark of the fourth quarter.
Senior midfielder Will Foster posted a game-high five points on a pair of goals and three assists, while Lawas notched a .652 save percentage and recorded 15 saves, one short of a season-best effort.
Redshirt sophomore faceoff specialist Adam Slager went 11-for-21 at the dot and recorded his first goal of the year to tie the game, 7-7, with 1:25 to play in the third quarter.
UP NEXT: Marquette returns home to open conference play against St. John's on Saturday, March 29 in a doubleheader with the MU women. The men face the Red Storm at 11 a.m. with the women to follow.
