Osburn and Bireley combine for 11 goals
YPSILANTI, Michigan – The Marquette University women's lacrosse team (10-6, 3-3 BIG EAST) earned an 18-14 road win at Eastern Michigan on Friday afternoon in its regular season finale.
Marquette was led by Tess Osburn and Meg Bireley who combined for 11 goals. Osburn tied her career-high with six and Bireley had her seventh five-goal game of the season.
The Golden Eagles were down 4-1 early before MU scored four unanswered to lead by one after the break. Tessa Boehm scored two goals in the first.
Marquette scored six goals in the second to take a commanding 12-6 lead at the break. Bireley and Osburn combined for five of MU's six second quarter goals. After letting up four goals in the first 10 minutes of game action, the Golden Eagles held the Eagles to just two goals the next 20 minutes.
Eastern Michigan went on a 4-0 run in the middle of the third before Sarah Beth Burns and Meg Bireley accounted for three goals the final two minutes of the quarter.
Eastern Michigan (8-8, 4-2 MAC) was led by Madison Blackwell who had five goals.

- Bireley had 12 shots on goals today and has 120 for the season, the most shots on goal in a season in program history. The senior also owns the most shots in a season in program history with 170, set this season.
- Brynna Nixon earned her 30th win of her career, the first goalie in program history to hit that career mark.
- Hanna Bodner had a career-high eight draw controls.
