MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's soccer team started 2025 with a scoreless draw against Bradley on Thursday night at Valley Fields.Â
Marquette played the last 79 minutes of the match with 10 men and held Bradley to 11 shots, four being on target.
"I think the best thing was our reaction to it," head coach David Korn said about the early sending off. "We're early in the season, so to see the group come together, compete, fight and celebrate the moments in a match, whether it was a block or really good play, that was a positive."
Marten Brink recorded a clean sheet with four saves.
Five Golden Eagles made their collegiate debuts, including freshmen Andreas Fotland and Bryce Richards who earned the start.Â
NOTABLES:Â
- Thursday night's contest was the official student welcome game, part of Marquette University's freshmen orientation week. A crowd of 1,645 people attended the contest.Â
- Andreas Fotland, Bryce Richards, Bence Molnar, Gabriel Miranda and Joey Buchanan all made their collegiate debuts. Mateo Stoka made his Marquette debut.Â
