MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's soccer team scored two goals in the final five minutes to earn the win over North Florida on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles (1-0-1) were led by Stoka, who played all 90 minutes and scored his first and second goals of his career on Sunday, including the 90th minute winner.
Stoka's first goal came at the penalty spot in the 84th minute. Kyle Bebej drew a foul in the box off a Bryce Richards cross that gave Marquette the spot kick. Stoka stepped up and found the bottom right corner to tie the game, 1-1.
Grant Locker drew a foul on the left side of the 18-yard box that gave MU a free kick in what would be the last opportunity of the game. Stoka confidently stepped up and curled the ball into the top right corner for the go-ahead goal, his second of the day.
North Florida (1-0-1) got a then go-ahead goal from Jaxon Reinhardt in the 83rd minute that was assisted by Alfie Mattocks.
