Golden Eagles begin BIG EAST play Friday at Creighton
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's soccer team (3-0-2, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) ended their season-opening five-match home stand with a 1-0 win over Lipscomb (1-3-2, 0-0-0 ASUN) on Saturday night.
The Golden Eagles were led by Mitchell Dryden, who netted his third goal of the season in the 20th minute on an assist from Andreas Fotland, the freshman's first point of his career.
Marquette outshot the Bisons 23-8 including a 16-4 difference in the second half.
Marten Brink earned his second shutout of the season with two saves.
NOTABLES:
Saturday night was the first meeting between Marquette and Lipscomb all-time.
Marquette ends their five-game season-opening homestand undefeated at 3-0-2.
UP NEXT: Marquette begins conference play on Friday, Sept. 19 at Creighton.
