Golden Eagles Open BIG EAST Action on Friday

After going 6-4 against non-conference opponents and securing a win over then-ranked No.15 Florida, the Golden Eagles will begin conference play on Friday against Providence at 7 p.m in the Al McGuire Center. MU will then host UConn on Saturday, with first serve at 6 p.m.

HISTORY x OPPONENTS
MU and Providence have met a total of 20 times in program history with the Blue and Gold remaining undefeated against the Friars. Providence enters the match 9-4 after defeating UNO 3-1 last Saturday. UConn enters the match 11-1 and on a five-match winning streak after defeating Sacred Heart, 3-0.

The Huskies and the Golden Eagles have met a total of 18 times in program history. MU takes the all-time series 15-3. Prior to coming to Milwaukee, the Huskies will face DePaul on Friday.

Marquette is represented by two Golden Eagles in the NCAA rankings:

Freshman Isabela Haggard is No. 1 in the BIG EAST and No. 19 in the NCAA for assists per set, averaging 10.32.

Natalie Ring is ranked No. 12 in attacks per set (11.97), No. 14 in kills per set (4.71), and No. 13 in points per set (5.33). Ring also leads the BIG EAST in kills and points per set.
