Chase Ross becomes 55th player in MU history with 1,000 points
The Marquette University men's basketball team (6-12, 1-6 BIG EAST) continued BIG EAST Conference play with a 92-68 loss at St. John's (12-5, 5-1 BIG EAST) on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

Senior guard Chase Ross finished with 20 points, becoming the 55th player in Marquette history to score 1,000 career points. Freshman guard Nigel James Jr. added 17points and sophomore Damarius Ownens added 10 points.

Ross and James Jr. combined for 24 points in the first half, but neither was able to find the bottom of the net until the 7:05 mark in the second half as STJ extended its halftime advantage to double digits and pulled away for the win.Â

Marquette was down 40-34 at the intermission after trailing by as many as 11 points early in the game. The Golden Eagles shot 50.0 percent from the floor, but 10 turnovers led to 12 points for the Red Storm. Ross had 14 points prior to intermission.
