Prior to Marquette: Konen, from Sugar Grove, Illinois graduated with a GPA over 4.0 at Marmion Academy and claimed IHSA Class 2A State Medalist honors as both junior and senior in 2023 and 2024 ... He carded a 69.4 strokes-per-round average as a senior and medaled in 10 of the 12 events in which he competed, including the Chicago Catholic League Championship and the IHSA Class 2A regionals and sectionals ... In the summer of 2024, Konen won stroke play in the 44th Chick Evans Junior Amateur Championship at Itasca Country Club with a 10-under 134, three strokes better than the runner-up finisher ...
