Jovahn Masters is in his second season with the Marquette women's basketball program as its Director of Player Development and Video.
At Marquette, Masters aids the staff with several key duties, including handling all video breakdown, video exchange and assisting with scouting. Other responsibilities include assisting in day-to-day practice and game operations in addition to duties as assigned on the road and with travel and providing support in post-season player development which includes film study and on-court application. He also oversees the male practice players.
Masters spent last season on staff at Xavier, where he began as a graduate assistant and was promoted to interim assistant coach in November of 2021. He oversaw all video operations for the Musketeers, including film exchange and upload, daily breakdown and scout film. Additionally, Masters assisted with scouting reports and summer camps, worked with players in film and on-court workouts, coordinated the team's male practice players, and served as an academic mentor for student-athletes.
Prior to his time at Xavier, Masters spent two seasons in various roles at NAIA Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin, from 2019-21. There, he began as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations and was later promoted to lead assistant coach.
Masters also previously served as the head coach of the junior varsity boys at La Crosse Aquinas HS from 2018-19.
A native of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Masters earned a bachelor's degree in social studies education from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in the fall of 2019.
