Women's Tennis Shut Out by North Carolina

TEMPE, Ariz. - North Carolina, ranked 12th in the nation, made quick work of Marquette, defeating the Golden Eagles, 7-0 at Arizona State University. Marquette was unable to take a single set from the Tar Heels. The closest MU came to a set win was Annabelle Espinosa at the no. 3 spot, losing to Julie Rotondi, 6-0, 6-4.

The UNC doubles teams also made quick work of the MU tandems, winning their matches 8-3, 8-3 and 8-1 in their respective first, second and third flights.

The victory improves the 12th-ranked Tar Heels' record to 10-3. Marquette falls to 2-9 on the year and will take on ninth ranked Arizona State on Friday at noon (PST).
