Golfers Sit Second With 18 Holes to Play

Marquette held lead after 18 holes
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. ? The Marquette golf team is in second place after two rounds at The Cardinal Intercollegiate in Simpsonville, Ky.
Marquette shot a 282 as a team in the first round which was good enough for first place by three strokes over Louisville. The Cardinals rebounded with a 283 in the second round to overtake Marquette by two shots in the team standings. Louisville is at eight-under, 568. Marquette is at 570.
Leading Marquette is senior Nathan Colson, who is in a tie for fourth at four- under, 140. Colson is two strokes off the pace held by Towson's Jeff Castle and Austin Peay's Chris Baron.
Sophomore Ted Gray and freshman Mike Van Sickle are in a tie for 17th place at 143. Senior Joe Weber is in 29th place at 147 and senior Steve Sass is in 59th place at 153.
