Van Sickle Places Fifth at Hoya Invitational

BEALLSVILLE, Md. - Sophomore Mike Van Sickle shot a one over par, 71, in the final round of the Hoya Invitational to finish in a tie for fifth in the Golden Eagles' fourth tournament of the fall.
Van Sickle led Marquette to a seventh place finish. Marquette shot a 42-over, 610, for the 36-hole event. MU was 10 shots behind host and tournament winner Georgetown, who passed William & Mary to take the tourney crown.
Penn State's Robert Rohanna won the tournament. He was the only golfer under par at three-under, 139. He finished nine shots ahead of Van Sickle, who shot a six-over, 148 for the 36 holes.
Sophomore Dustin Schwab finished at 11-over, 153, placing 24th. Junior Ted Gray was two shots behind at 13-over, 155, tying for 31st place.
Two strokes behind Gray was junior Michael Bielawski, who shot a 15-over, 157, tying for 36th place. Freshman Mike McDonald placed 40th with a 16-over 158.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Nov. 4-5 when it hosts the BIG EAST/MAC Challenge in Winter Garden, Fla.
