BLOOMINGTON, Ind.--The Marquette women's tennis team concluded play after three days at the Indiana Winter Invitational with great success earning three doubles victories on the court in the final day of competition. It was MU's first tournament since fall play ended in November.
Juniors Ana Pimienta and Vanessa Foltinger joined forces and defeated Marjanovic and Conrad from Abilene Christian, 6-1. Junior Ali Dawson and sophomore Laia Hernandez Soler were victorious in their match with a straight 6-0 sweep and senior Rocio Diaz and sophomore Erin Gebes claimed a 6-4 victory over the Hueffner sisters from Oregon.
Marquette opens dual play this weekend as it hosts Illinois-Chicago at 10 a.m. Central time, Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
