WHAT THEY ARE SAYING…Â
Marquette head coach Steve Bailey: "It's the fourth week in a row we've played a PGA Tour or major championship venue and it will be a test just like we've had the last couple weeks. But that is what we're looking for. We're doing everything to prepare our team for the championship season at the end of the year. With the caliber of the course it will be a challenge it's a place that puts a premium on driving the golf ball and putting it in play. It's a great field as well. When you have a great venue like this it's not hard to attract some of the best teams in the country."
Bailey on the new additions to MU's lineup: "Matthew Bachman is a senior so he's a veteran. It's good to see him get his game rolling in the right direction and Aidan (Lafferty) will get his first start in the lineup playing for the team. I'm really impressed with what he's done the last couple weeks. He's posted some really solid rounds and I'm looking forward for him to get in the lineup and help our team. I'm excited for those guys to get a shot and we'll get to do it at a pretty special place."
Bailey on BIG EAST Golfer of the Week Hunter Eichhorn: "I'm excited for him to have another shot at a place that is a good test. He seems to embrace those (challenges) and he's really carried us to the finishes we've had with what he's brought to the table. It becomes a little contagious and our guys start trending in that direction."
