THE SERIES
Northwestern leads, 8-4, in a series that dates back to 1977 – Marquette's second season as a program. Last season in Evanston, the Golden Eagles prevailed in a 76-57 win over the Wildcats as Allazia Blockton became MU's all-time leading scorer..
WHAT THE TEAM IS SAYING:
On opening the season 3-0…
"Coach talked about it downstairs, we played three games before some people played one, so that was a tough stretch that we went through. I think it shows our maturity for our young team to get through three games, three different scouts, so I think it is a big help for the future. Down the line BIG EAST play is going to be quick, so I think it is good to learn that. With Northwestern coming on Thursday, we will recap from this game, learn from it and be ready to go."
