Women's Tennis Hits the Road For Two Matches

Golden Eagles Play at Wisconsin and Indiana
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team will head to Madison to battle cross-state foe Wisconsin (3-0) on Friday, Feb. 1 and then to Indiana (1-1) on Sunday, Feb. 3.
The Golden Eagles opened up the 2019 season with back-to-back wins against Northern Illinois University and Green Bay.
At Northern Illinois (1-0), Milica Novaakovis and Fleur Eggnik earned a 6-3 win on court No. 1. On position No. 2, Nataija Popovic and Lesley Foe claimed a 6-2 win and Isabelle Franks and Alexandrian Chinikova finished with a 6-4 victory on court No. 3. Marquette dominated at Green Bay(0-2), 7-0, including a shut out on Court No. 3.
For the Badgers, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranked senior Sara Castellano No. 31 and sophomore Lexie Keberle Nov. 46 in the top-50 singles rankings. The badgers are on a three game winning streak at home.
The Hoosiers are coming off a 4-3 win against Cincinnati.
Following the weekend, the Golden Eagles will face Western Michigan University at 3 p.m. at Hefaer Tennis and Recreation Center on Friday, Feb. 8.
