Marquette Hosts Drake and Iowa this Weekend

Golden Eagles look to build on a 2-0 weekend
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University's women's tennis (4-2) welcomes Drake University (3-5) on Friday, Feb. 15 and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes (6-0) on Sunday, Feb. 17.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a 6-1 victory over Illinois State University.
Marquette was on the board first after sweeping all three doubles courts. Fleur Eggink won at the No. 1 position, despite dropping the first set 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2, Natalija Popovic also came back to a 7-5, 6-7, 10-8 win. Alexandrina Chinikova, Lesley Foe, and Isabella Franks also tallied wins for the team as well.
The Bulldogs are coming off back-to-back losses from the weekend. Drake dropped a 4-1 decision to Wyoming and was swept 4-0 by Nebraska. The Bulldogs face Milwaukee before heading to Marquette.
The University of Iowa comes into the meet with an undefeated record after defeating Iowa State and DePaul last weekend. This is the third time in the past ten seasons the Hawkeyes have opened their season with six straight wins. The Hawkeyes lead the all-time series 19-2.
Following the weekend, the Golden Eagles travel to East Lansing, Michigan to face off Michigan State University Spartans on Friday, Feb. 22.
