
Marquette Makes Moves in Second Round at Puerto Rico Classic

Sub-par rounds from Oliver Farrell, Hunter Eichhorn and Austin Kendziorski move MU to a tie for sixth
RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico -- A 3-under-par 69 from Oliver Farrell, along with 2-under-par 70s from Hunter Eichhorn and Austin Kendziorski on Monday lifted Marquette to a tie for sixth place through 36 holes at the 27th annual Puerto Rico Classic, hosted by Purdue at Rio Mar C.C.
The Golden Eagles (294-285—579, 3-over-par) shot a 3-under-par 285 as a team, jumping two places up the tournament leaderboard entering final round play on Tuesday. No. 5 Georgia Tech leads the PRC at 11-under-par following a 6-under-par round on Monday. MU carded 19 birdies in the second the round to reach 34 for the tournament, fourth-most in the 15-team field.
Eichhorn's 2-under-par round featured a 5-under-par start with five birdie makes after teeing off on No. 8. He has a field-best 12 birdies in the PRC and is tied for 15th at 2-under-par through 36 holes (72-70—142) and just three shots off the lead. Four players share the top of the leaderboard at 5-under-par for the tournament.
Farrell and Kendziorski made big moves on Monday to reach a tie for 19th place - Farrell's 3-under-par round lifted him 26 spots, while Kendziorski's 2-under-par day moved him ahead 19 spots.Â
Eichhorn, Farrell and Kendziorski are among the 20 players in the 75-man field who are at par or better through 36 holes.
Final round play tees off with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday.
