MARQUETTE'S NCAA HISTORY
For the third year in a row, Marquette is participating in the NCAA championships. The team made its last appearance in the 2017 Sammamish, Washington Regional, finishing 13th with a 54-hole 899 score. Â
In 2018, BIG EAST champion Hunter Eichhorn and at-large selection Matt Murlick played in the Bryan, Texas Regional, hosted by Texas A&M at Traditions Club. Both Eichhorn (T-25 - 219, 3-over-par) and Murlick (T-19, 217, 1-over-par) posted the lowest 54-hole NCAA regional scores in program history. Murlick's tie for 19th was MU's best individual NCAA regional finish since Mike Van Sickle finished 17th at the 2007 Central Regional.
Eichhorn, Murlick, Oliver Farrell and Austin Kendziorski will each play in their second NCAA regional, while Matthew Bachmann heads to his second NCAA regional and first as the substitute, the result of an NCAA rule change enacted for championships starting in the 2017-18 season. All eight players on the Marquette roster will make the trip to Austin.
