Three Golden Eagles are tied for 24th, as MU sits eighth heading into Wednesday's finale
AUSTIN, Texas — Oliver Farrell delivered a hole-in-one on the Par 3 No. 2, and sits tied for 24th with Hunter Eichhorn and Austin Kendziorski, as Marquette is in eighth place after 36 holes at the NCAA Austin Regional.
The Golden Eagles (290-297—587, 19-over-par) are 14 strokes off the qualifying pace - fifth-place Arkansas is at 5-over-par for the tournament. The top five teams move on to the NCAA Championships.
Farrell's first collegiate career ace came on a hole that yielded just two birdies to that point, and seven total through 36 holes. As the third player to hit in the threesome, he struck a tee shot that found the front pin location and rolled in to give the Golden Eagles an early two-stroke swing.
ACE! 👏

It was Marquette's second ace of the season - Matthew Bachmann holed out the Par 3 9th at Vanderbilt Legends Club during the first round of the Mason Rudolph Championship on April 5.
Farrell (72-73—145, 3-over-par) carded an eagle on the Par 5 11th, taking advantage of one of the lowest scoring holes on the course.
Eichhorn (73-72—145) made a four-spot jump with his 72, highlighted by a 1-under-par front nine, scoring on the toughest half of the course. Three of Kendziorski's (72-73–145) four birdies came on the back nine, including on the Par 4 18th when he stuck his approach shot three feet from the hole.
Host Texas cruised through its second round with a 10-under-par score at UT Golf Club (Par 71, 7,355 yards) to reach 16-under-par for the tournament. Three Longhorns are part of a five-way tie for the individual lead.
Pepperdine, Clemson, TCU and Arkansas will enter final round play on Wednesday in qualifying positions.
