
MU Bests St. John's, 94-85 in Comeback Victory

Selena Lott scored a career-high 34 points
MILWAUKEE— Down by as many as 12 points, the Marquette women's basketball team put on a show with a come-from-behind 94-85 victory over St. John's on Friday evening at the Al McGuire Center.
Selena Lott poured in a career-high 34 points in the win to lead three Marquette (11-4, 2-2) players in double figures, while dishing out a team-best seven assists. Lauren Van Kleunen matched a season-high with 19 points, while Altia Anderson connected for a career-best 14 points in the win. Van Kluenen along with Chloe Marotta each took down six boards as the Golden Eagles once again outrebounded their opponent, 29-22.
Marquette outscored St. John's (11-5, 3-2) 25-13 in the fourth quarter and led for just 3:01 of the game, but a 14-3 run in the final four minutes propelled the squad in front of the Red Storm for the win.
The Golden Eagles shot a season-best 59.3 percent (35-59) from the floor, which marks the 13th game this season in which MU has connected on over 40 percent of its shots. 52 points were scored in the paint, while the squad handed out a season-best 26 assists in the game.
St. John's was led by Qadashah Hoppie with 22 points as three other Red Storm player tallied double digits.
