
Golden Eagles tie for fifth at Rich Harvest Farms

The Golden Eagles shot an 8-under 280 as a team on Monday; Eichhorn placed fifth

SUGAR GROVE, Illinois – The Marquette University men's golf team tied for fifth at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate after posting an 8-under 280 in Monday's final round.
Graduate student Hunter Eichhorn, who was tied for the individual lead entering the day, shot a final round of even par (72) and placed fifth at 6-under-par (69-69-72--210). It is the 14th top-five finish of Eichhorn's career and the 12th time he's recorded three rounds of par-or-better in a single tournament.
As a team, the Golden Eagles improved 15 strokes over their Sunday performance of 7-over-par to record their second-best single round score of the year. All five individuals in the Marquette lineup shot par-or-better and Scott Schlader, completing individually, shot the lowest round of his collegiate career on Monday with a 2-under 70.
MU was led by Bhoom Sima-Aree's 4-under 68, which included an eagle on the par-5 second hole and five birdies. He tied for 26th in the event at even par and Monday's 68 was a collegiate low and the first time as a Golden Eagle that he shot in the 60s.
Redshirt junior Tyler Leach bounced back from a second round 78 on Sunday with a 3-under 69, which also included an eagle on the par-5 seventh hole.
Freshman Max Lyons turned in his second round of even par on Monday and tied for 31st in the event at 1-over with Nicolás Evangelio, who posted a 1-under 71 on Monday.
Purdue won the team event at 21-under after recording a 15-under 273 in the final round, while Missouri dropped one spot into second despite a final team score of 20-under-par. Purdue's Herman Wibe Sekne was the individual champion at 11-under after a 6-under 66 on Monday.
The Golden Eagles compete in their final event of the fall on Oct. 11-12 in West Lafayette, Indiana at the Purdue Fall Invitational at Kampen Golf Course.
