Golden Eagles hit the road on three-match win streak
The Marquette University women's soccer team (7-4-0) will head east for a brief two-game road trip that features a match against UConn (5-5-0) on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. and a meeting with Providence (6-3-2) on Sunday, Oct. 10 at noon CT.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a 1-0 win against Seton Hall on Sunday. They take to the road on a three-game win streak, all of which came in conference play. Marquette last won four consecutive BIG EAST matches in 2016 and has not won five straight since 2013.

EASTER NAMED BIG EAST GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Mikki Easter was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after posting back-to-back clean sheets against Creighton and Seton Hall. Through games of Oct. 4, the redshirt freshman ranks first in the conference in save percentage (.848), second in goals-against-average (0.54) and is tied for second in shutouts with five.

DEFENSE LEADS THE WAY

Marquette has allowed just two goals over the last seven matches, dating back to the Sept. 9 victory over UIC. The Golden Eagles have come out victorious in six of those matches, outscoring opponents 10-2.

SERIES VS. UCONN

MU is 6-2-1 in the all-time series against the Huskies and has not lost since 2007. The two squads last met back in 2012, and Marquette came away with a 4-1 win at Valley Fields.

In 16 all-time matches, the Golden Eagles have gone 11-3-2 against the Friars. Marquette has dropped the last three meetings with Providence, but had rattled off eight consecutive wins against PC from 2010-16.
