MILWAUKEE - Greg Elliott scored a career-high 22 points, but Marquette fell to No. 4 UCLA, 67-56, on Saturday evening at Fiserv Forum.
The game was the non-conference finale for the Golden Eagles (8-3), who begin BIG EAST Conference action on Dec. 18 at Xavier. Elliott led Justin Lewis (12 points) and Darryl Morsell (11 points) in double figures while knocking down a career-high six 3-pointers.
The Bruins (8-1) were led by 24 points by Jaime Jaquez Jr., while Johnny Juzang and Tyger Campbell each had 12.Â
The Golden Eagles shot 46.2% in the second half and pulled within nine points down the stretch after falling behind by 23 late in the first.

Notables:
- After trailing 33-10, MU closed the final three minutes of the first half on an 11-2 run to head into the break down, 35-21.Â
- Elliott keyed the final 11 points of the opening half for the Golden Eagles, knocking down a trio of 3-pointers, including one right at the halftime buzzer. He also connected on an alley-oop to Kur Kuath after knocking down his first triple.
- MU started the game shooting just 3-of-26 prior to making 4-of-5 field goals to close the half. MU was also 1-of-16 from 3-point range prior to Elliott's triples to end the half.
- Elliott's previous career-high of 17 points came at Butler last season on Feb. 17, 2021.
- The Bruins own the 4-0 series advantage with wins over MU in Milwaukee in 1949 and 1964, as well as a win last season in Los Angeles.
- MU's three returning scholarship players from last year's squad all saw action last season against the Bruins in Westwood. Greg Elliott scored eight points in 24 minutes, while Justin Lewis posted seven points in 12 minutes. Oso Ighodaro was scoreless in seven minutes.
- The last series game in Milwaukee on Dec 18, 1964 resulted in a 61-52 win by No. 5 UCLA.  The game was part of the Milwaukee Classic under first-year head coach Al McGuire and one night later, MU would defeat Wisconsin, 62-61, to finish the tournament.
- UCLA is Marquette's fourth nationally ranked opponent (Illinois, St. Bonaventure, Wisconsin) of the season.
- The fourth-ranked Bruins are the first top-five non-conference team (outside of the annual UW matchup) to play in Milwaukee since No. 5 Kansas played in the Bradley Center in 1991-92. Â
