Kijac clinches team victory
The Marquette University men's tennis team (3-2) opened its weekend road trip to Ohio with a 5-2 win over Youngstown State (0-4) Saturday night in non-conference action in Dayton.
The win was the third-straight for the Golden Eagles and the team's first on the road.
MU opened the match by claiming the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and No. 2. Stefan Dragovic and Ian Brady edged their YSU opponent, 7-6, at No. 2 to clinch the point.
The Golden Eagles picked up four singles wins on the evening, with freshman Nikola Kijac rallying for a 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 to secure the team victory. Fran San Andres, Dragovic and Brady also earned wins for the team.
Marquette returns to action Sunday morning when the team takes on Dayton. First serve is set for 9 a.m. CT.
